Puppy Sales Via Internet

An article today in Pet product Magazine. Charities are clubbing together to crack down on internet pet sales. It is setting out to protect the public from the risk of ending up with sick, dangerous and illegal animals. They say that 1 in 5 puppies bought on line are dying before they get to six months of age!

They are also cracking down on puppy sales before the age of 8 weeks. I hear so many times of breeders letting their puppies go at 6 and 7 weeks as they say that as the owner has had a dog before it will help with bonding, which in my opinion is absolute rubbish. The time spent with it's mother at this age is the most important to get to grips with being a dog with it's litter mates and mother. Good breeders will be handling the pups at least 3 or 4 times a day so they can be integrated into their news home with some feeling of safety with humans when they leave their birth home.

Please do not buy a puppy on line, it is not a dishwasher. You need to see it has been brought up in a home and has been handled well, and that the bitch is healthy and plump. By doing this you will begin with a healthy, happy puppy who is able to cope with change far better and have the ability to move forward as a blank canvas of a stable mind.
