What if it doesn’t work?
It does work. If you do all you have been taught by your PURE Dog Listener. All PURE Dog Listeners give back-up for life and never give up on a client. If you are willing to work with us, keep in contact and put into practice 100% what you have been taught then you will find a dog in there you never knew existed! You get back-up for the life of your dog, we will help you make it happen.
If it definately works, why isn’t there a money back guarantee?
Although you will see rapid improvements during and after your consultation this is no quick fix. You and your family must consistently use the method to communicate with your dog. As we cannot guarantee your behaviour we cannot in turn guarantee your dogs behaviour. Your dog listener offers free and unlimited back-up and support instead. After hundreds of happy clients we can only afford this service as we know the system works and you’ll have success.
How far will you travel?
We will travel anywhere that we are needed.
What dog training techniques do you use?
PURE Dog Listening is a holistic method. Once you have the relationship with your dog balanced then teaching other skills such as searching, tracking, agility or any of the countless things you can do with your dog become a joy.
Why don’t you do consultations over the phone or online?
We don’t do this as we can neither assess you dogs true personality or your skills of putting it all into practice. Only a one to one, face to face consultation and back-up will truly benefit you and your dog. Everyone who has any input into the dogs daily life needs to be present and you will all have different questions and abilities. Also, the problems you see many not be the only ones present. This method works best if the entire household are consistent and, above all, understand why they are doing various things so they achieve the dog of their dreams. It is team work.
With any practical skill, more so with animals, it is near on impossible to gain these skills from purely a book or advice from a distance. Ask yourself how you learnt to drive a car or ride a horse? Was it online? No – I don’t think so!
Can you teach an old dog new tricks?
Put anyone or anything in the correct environment and using the language they/it understands with empathy and anything is possible. Just because your dog is over 2yrs it doesn’t mean it has lost the capacity to learn. As with humans, we learn through out our lives if our teachers have patience and understanding.

What’s the difference between a Dog Listener, Dog Trainer, Dog Whisperer, Dog Psychologist, Dog Behaviourist etc?
A PURE Dog Listener uses no gadgets, drugs, intimidation or force. As it says, PURE is pure canine communication. Never saw a dog hand out tablets or use an electric collar or balloons filled with water!! We like the term Listener because, listen is what we do, or more correctly watching and understanding what the dog is telling us through its body language. We are proactive in our aproach and work with the dogs instincts not against.
What qualifications do PURE Dog Listeners hold?
All PURE Dog Listeners hold both the Foundation and Advanced Certificate in Canine Communication. They have also worked as an associate of the Jan Fennell Dog Listener organisation until opting for independence. In addition they are all people who have a strong track record of both dog and people skills, Police, Nursing etc. They are all totally committed to the welfare of dogs and show this everyday in a hands on way. There are many in the dog world who couldn’t take a dog for a walk but will happily write instructions for someone else to do it and charge them handsomely for their input.
Can I become a PURE Dog Listener?
All PURE dog Listeners have trained and qualified as dog listeners, gained experience in this field and have passed a further assessement to ensure they are the best of the best. You would have to follow the same route but we welcome suitably qualified people who understand that we will always keep the method pure and work within an open environment where every members view will be treated with respect and given the consideration it deserves. Can I gain the required qualification through the Association of PURE Dog Listeners?
